Baptism

Baptism is for believers.
The Bible teaches that only those that have trusted Christ as Savior should be baptized (Acts 2:41, 8:12, 18:8). This means that you have admitted that you are a sinner, that Jesus Christ died for your sin and rose again on the third day. The only way for you to be saved is by placing your trust in Christ’s work on the cross. (Acts 16:31).

Baptism is a step of obedience.
Christ commanded us to make disciples and baptize them in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Matthew 28:19). Jesus Christ set the example for all believers when He was baptized in the Jordan River.

Baptism should be by immersion.
The word baptize means to immerse. This is a way of publicly identifying yourself with Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection. Biblical examples of baptism were done in the water. (See Matthew 3:16; Acts 8:38)

If you have not followed Christ’s example in believer’s baptism by immersion, contact a Bible-believing church about taking this important step and making a public profession of your faith in Christ.
